This article from the University Extension website is an excellent introduction to how to talk to children about HIV and AIDS. If you’re the parent of a teenager, you’ll want to consult the last two sections (scroll down on the page): “Ages 11 to 14” and “Ages 15 to 18.”

The AIDS Education Global Information System is a massive website about AIDS, with information on everything from diagnosis and treatment to AIDS-related law. Not a bad resource if you have any question about AIDS, to prepare for a discussion with your kids.
